Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew was full of praise for Scott Dann on Wednesday night.
The 28-year old centre-back was named the Eagles' Player of the Year at the south London club's awards night and the victory prompted Pardew to speak highly of his importance to the team.
"He's been outstanding is just one of a number of players who have been," said the Palace boss.
"He's got the vote from the fans and that's more appreciated by the players than anything else, and he's very important to us."
Dan, who joined Palace from Blackburn Rovers 18 months ago, has made 32 Premier League appearances in a defence that has conceded 50 goals in 36 outings this season.
