Pardew pleased with patched-up Newcastle for Burnley draw

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew was pleased with their 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Pardew was glad his side's fans stuck it out at Turf Moor long enough to see Remy Cabella inspire a second-half comeback against Burnley.

The Clarets had much the better of the first half but went into the break just one goal up courtesy of George Boyd's 20-yard strike.

"I was pleased to see our fans had stayed for the second half because the last 20 minutes of the first half were tough to watch," he said.

"The biggest difference was Cabella, he really gave us some technical ability and produced a really great second half or us.

"That's really good news because we've been waiting for him to come alive a little bit for us.

"It's been a slow burn for Remy but he changed this game for us."

Pardew added: "He's not going to be a dominant force physically in the Premier League, so he has to be a David Silva. He has to get on the ball, run at people, create things.

"And he did that. He was instrumental."
