Veteran defender Paolo Maldini is confident that AC Milan can still catch up to Serie A leaders Inter Milan. Whilst Jose Mourinho's side has a six point lead going into this weekend's matches, Maldini believes that with more than half a season to play, his side and Juventus have plenty of opportunity to catch up.

"I think that both teams, regardless of Sunday's result, will have the opportunity to chase Inter," Maldini said on Thursday.

"They must, and in fact already are, the candidates to battle Inter for the top of the table."
