Palermo's Amauri: I'll make Roma opener

Amauri is confident of being fit for Palermo's opening Serie A clash with Roma.

The fit-again Brazilian striker said: "The injury is now in the past and I am returning to the kind of movements that used to come naturally, even if I am still lacking that vision of the play that would have helped me find the net this week."

That 2-1 friendly defeat to Vicenza was a disappointment, but Rosanero supporters are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the dream partnership of Amauri and Fabrizio Miccoli.

"I must admit, on paper this is one of the strongest pairings in Serie A," said the former Chievo striker.

"We still have to work on our understanding on the field and must not forget other teammates like Edison Cavani, Radoslaw Matusiak and Franco Brienza. I do miss scoring goals, although I cannot let it become an obsession."
