Palermo president Mauricio Zamparini has thrown his support behind AC Milan legend Rino Gattuso.
The former Rosanero coach is being investigated as part of allegations over match-fixing.
"I would put my hand in the fire for him," Zamparini told Radio 24. "I know him - I would give him my wallet because I know he is a trustworthy person.
"It seems impossible to me that Gennaro could be involved.
"I respect him as a man and I admire him.
"Italy is a second-class country. You can't do justice in Press conferences."
