Palermo have confirmed they're in talks with Chievo Verona for defender Andrea Mantovani.

The Rosanero hope to land the stopper in the coming days.

"We are in negotiations with Chievo," President Maurizio Zamparini said. "Stefano Pioli likes him a lot and we are trying to net him.

"It is not easy to negotiate with Chievo, but I think we will get him in the end."
