Daniel Paladini is eagerly anticipating a fresh start after joining Columbus Crew.
The 29-year old midfielder has joined the Crew from rival MLS club Chicago Fire and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Dominic Oduro who had a brilliant season in Ohio after crossing in February.
"It's really exciting," Paladini told TheCrew.com regarding the move.
"Playing on the opposite side last year, and Dom Oduro going from Chicago to Columbus and him having such a successful season last year, it's one of those bittersweet things.
"I'll obviously miss Chicago, the city and the fans, but this is a business. This is how our business works.
"It worked out for Dom in Columbus. He's happy and he has a great setup [in Columbus]. Talking with him, I've heard nothing but good things about the fans and I'm looking forward to meeting them and getting plugged-in with them. I know a lot of the guys on the team.
"It's a good bunch of guys, so I'm looking forward to meeting more of them and bringing some wins across the way against Chicago."
Paladini has joined the Crew in exchange for a 4th round 2014 MLS SuperDraft pick which will head to Chicago.
