Palace striker Campbell up for Chelsea clash

Crystal Palace striker Fraizer Campbell is up for their clash with Chelsea.

Campbell scored against Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United for Cardiff City and is determined to continue his recent good form when Palace host the Premier League leaders.

The 27-year-old has scored twice in his last three games but feels his best is yet to come in a Palace shirt.

"It is hard to put your finger on [my record] last season," said the striker. "Everyone is more pumped up for the game, so maybe that is a factor. When you play the top teams, you are desperate to perform and maybe they underestimate you a bit. Hopefully, I can continue that record this year.

"When you are playing against the better teams, you need every player to perform. They are easy games to get up for because they are the teams everyone wants to play against. Chances do not come around too often and, when they do, you have to take them.

"I have done alright [this season] but I do not think I have played as good as I can. But I have scored a couple of goals and things are going well. There was a change of manager but it has been a pretty seamless transition and we have made a solid start to the season."
