Palace skipper Puncheon feels lessons have been learnt this campaign

Crystal Palace captain Jason Puncheon is confident the Eagles will now build under boss Sam Allardyce now that Premier League safety has been confirmed.

"I have great belief that we will not be in this position next season," he said. "But we cannot get carried away and we cannot forget what got us into this position in the Premier League in the first place.

"We showed great belief and desire out there but we can't think we are this magical thing that we are not.

"We all know we should not have been in this position in the second to last game but we were. We have to build on this now and look forward to next season."
