Crystal Palace are chasing Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

The Daily Star Sunday says Eagles scout Tim Coe has been a regular visitor to Parkhead and Van Dijk, 23, has received glowing reports.

Palace co-chairman Steve Parish will back boss Alan Pardew with funds to take the south Londoners to the next level - and Van Dijk fits the bill.

Pardew wants the Dutch central defender to play alongside Scott Dann and hopes the offer of first-team football can tempt Van Dijk to snub potential offers from Arsenal and Tottenham.
