Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is determined to find a centre-forward signing this week.

Pardew is in talks with his former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi, who is currently a free agent.

Swansea City forward Bafetimi Gomis and Besiktas' Demba Ba have also been considered by Palace chiefs.

However, the most likely option is the free signing of Ameobi, who has been offered a six-month deal at Selhurst Park.
