Palace boss Pardew happy to keep hold of 2-goal Murray

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is delighted to he held onto Glenn Murray.

The striker struck twice in their 3-1 win at West Ham Uited.

"We had four Championship teams that felt they had a chance of him on loan - Reading the most prominent as he has been there," he said.

"But I gave him a new contract and said 'you're going to stay here and help us get out of this situation'.

"He's been unfortunate as Fraizer came in and did brilliantly for us - so he's had to be patient but he's rewarded me in this game and I can't thank him enough - he was terrific."
