Palace accept sale of Middlesbrough, QPR target Watson

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock accepts they're likely to sell midfielder Ben Watson.

Middlesbrough and QPR have been linked with the England U21 international and Warnock told Palace's website: "We've offered Ben the best contract we could offer anyone at the club at this moment in time but I don't think he's going to accept it.

"We'll speak to him again but I think he feels it might be time in his career to move on, which will be a disappointment for us but it's one of those things.

"We want players who are fully committed and Ben and his advisor might think the grass is greener elsewhere.

"I hope we can sort something out because it is a fabulous contract that the chairman has let me offer him, but if it's not to be it's not to be."
