Pablo Mari targets early Arsenal training return

Arsenal defender Pablo Mari hopes to be back in training next month.

The London Evening Standard says Mari is hoping to be back training in September after working with a specialist in Spain.

The Spaniard, who joined Arsenal permanently in June from Brazilian club Flamengo, injured his ankle against Manchester City in the first game since football returned from lockdown.

Mari duly underwent surgery to fix the problem and he has since been working at a clinic in Spain undergoing specialist attention and extensive therapy.

The centre-back has been working at the Recover medical centre in Cambrils and his treatment there is understood to have been a success.

Mari is now planning to continue his work with Arsenal's own medical staff and he is hoping to return to full training in September.
