Overmars says Ajax proud of Man Utd deal for Blind

Ajax chief Marc Overmars says the club is proud of Daley Blind's move to Manchester United.

The reigning Eredivisie champions parted company with Blind following his impressive World Cup displays and Overmars, writing in De Telegraaf, has offered an explanation of Ajax's happiness with the deal.

"Daley Blind fifteen months ago had an expiring contract with Ajax," said Overmars. "He could have left on a free transfer.

"The club has captured him again and now he's left for a considerable amount to one of the biggest clubs in the world."
