Everton midfielder Leon Osman says Nikica Jelavic's arrival has lifted everyone at the club.

Osman insists the 26-year-old Croatian's goalscoring has a positive effect on everyone.

He said: "In the past we've played some really good football and when the ball goes in the box, we've been lacking a striker in there.

"Sometimes our strikers have barely been getting in the box at all. But Niki seems to be a player who loves being there, and not only that, he's certainly putting the work for the team outside the box and in other parts of the field.

"But when the ball goes wide, or it's in and around that area, he's very central and that's great."
