Osman: Air of confidence surrounding Everton's Europa League campaign

Leon Osman has suggested that Everton are eyeing glory in the UEFA Europa League this season.

The Toffees take on Swiss club Young Boys in the Round of 32 first leg on Thursday night and veteran midfielder Osman suggests they have a strong chance of moving into the next phase before setting their sights on winning Europe's second tier club competition.

"It's important for us, the Europa League. We've now got into the knockout stages of this competition, so we certainly want to have a go at winning it," he told the club's official website.

"This is our first two-legged affair, good old fashioned European knockout football and we're confident we can do well."

Everton cruised through the group stage by finishing top of the Group H table ahead of Wolfsburg while Young Boys were just a point behind Group I winners Napoli after a solid bunch of results in their group campaign.
