Osasuna striker Pandiani grateful for Camacho lifeline

Walter Pandiani is delighted with the arrival of new coach Jose Antonio Camacho at Osasuna.

The Uruguay international striker was frozen out by previous boss Jose Angel Ziganda, but is now first-choice under Camacho.

Pandiani said: "I have tremendous joy with the situation, because to me, another door that was virtually closed has opened. What remains is to work and show that I have a place in this team.

"With the previous coach, I did the right thing, even to be a starter, but I do not know why he never wanted to count on me. I learned a week before the market closed that he did not want me and there was not enough time to organise a move away."

Asked about the possibility of leaving the team in the winter market, he responded: "At the moment, I don't know, but for now I think of Osasuna."
