Odemwingie not for sale says West Brom boss Clarke

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has made it vehemently clear that he has no interest in selling Peter Odemwingie.

The Nigerian striker has often been the subject of a Baggies departure ever since he scored 15 goals during the 2010/11 season with Qatari club Al Gharafa coming in with a £4million bid recently.

But Clarke, who took over at The Hawthorns earlier this summer, insists that the former Lokomotiv Moscow man is going nowhere.

"I think you're always going to have speculation about your good players," he told The Express.

"It wouldn't be football otherwise, especially with it being the summer when the transfer window is open.

"Your good players are always going to be linked with other clubs.

"There was one bid that came in for Peter, but it wasn't from an English club. We turned it down - and I think that says enough."
