Darren O'Dea signed a new three-year deal at Celtic yesterday - before dashing south to join Reading on a six-month loan. O'Dea said: "It's obviously great to sign a new deal but it's more important that I get out now and play football. This is a massive chance for me to play at a good club like Reading, prove my worth then come back and try to do the same here.
"I feel this is the right thing for me to do now and when I come back I never want to hear the word 'experience' said to me again.
"If I'm good enough to play here - and I think I am - this is the club I want to play for."
