Rory Fallon is planning to put his club before country as he attempts to prolong his career with Aberdeen.
The 30-year old striker could be on his way around the world later this year for 2014 World Cup qualifiers with New Zealand but feels that he may find out if he is going to be used by the All Whites before committing to the hectic travel schedules.
"We've got a few long-distance trips this year and we will have to see what happens," he told the Daily Record.
"If I'm not in the plans for starting with New Zealand then it doesn't make much sense for me to travel all the way over there and risk losing my place at Aberdeen. I will speak to the New Zealand coach as Aberdeen is my first focus and I want to have a good season.
"I want to go to another World Cup but this is my final year here and I want to do well with the club as I don't know what will happen when my contract's up."
