NYRB star Henry named MLS Player of the Week for third successive time

Thierry Henry has become the first player in MLS history be named the Player of the Week three times in a row.

The New York Red Bulls striker scored a double and provided an assist in his side's 4-1 win at Columbus Crew on the weekend to make it seven goals in three matches which has guided the club to second on the Eastern Conference table.

Henry backed up his brace in the 4-1 win over Colorado Rapids and hat-trick in the 5-2 demolition of Montreal Impact with another pair of goals to make it three selections in three weeks, making him the first player since the league commenced in 1994 to achieve the feat.
