New York Red Bull are prepared to drop their pursuit of striker Luke Rodgers.
The 30-year old joined the Red Bulls from Notts County in 2011 but only lasted a year on his working visa before legal complications which arose in England denied him the chance to obtain a second permit.
According to MLS sources, New York are set to drop their interest in getting Rodgers back to the Red Bull Arena: "There is no indication from the requisite paperwork needed to bring in Luke that the Red Bulls are bringing him back. In fact, everything has been quiet on that front."
This year, Rodgers was loaned out by New York to Norwegian club Lillestrom before joining English League One outfit Portsmouth in August. Since then he has been on loan with former club Shrewsbury Town.
