NYCFC edging closer to ex-Rosenborg midfielder Diskerud

New York City FC have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Mix Diskerud according to reports.

The MLS expansion franchise are looking to the USA international, who is out of contract at Norwegian club Rosenborg, to step into the role that was to be filled by Designated Player Frank Lampard.

Lampard will remain on loan with Manchester City until the summer which has prompted NYCFC to head back into the transfer market in order to bring in a quality midfielder.

Diskerud has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks but Goal.com suggests that the 24-year old will soon join the Jason Kreis-coached New York City.
