Notts county boss Steve Cotterill lauded his record-breaking defence after Notts County took a giant stride towards the League Two title by beating Rochdale 1-0. The Magpies clean sheet was their 23rd of the season, which sees them equal a club record set 87 years ago.
County are now four points clear at the summit with a game in hand, having kept 10 shut-outs in their last 15 games.
Cotterill said: "The back four have been immense, as Rochdale only having one clear shot on target testifies. We defended from the front and keeping clean sheets is a team effort.
"Chris Dagnall, who I've watched on a number of occasions, is an excellent player with a great future but he hardly troubled our defence and that is a real compliment to them.
"I think the star performer on the night was their goalkeeper, who has made three or four top class saves. Overall though it's another three points for us against our closest rivals but we are not quite there yet."
