Notts County boss Hans Backe has banned talk of bringing new players to Meadow Lane for fear of disrupting his current squad. The new Magpies boss thinks it could unsettle the club's existing players, who he wants calm and focused on winning games to keep County's League Two promotion challenge on track.

Backe, whose side are fourth in the table and four points behind table-topping Bournemouth going into Saturday's trip to Bury, said: "I don't like to stress the players too much and talk about getting players in on loan and looking to the January window.

"They have to calm down and just play football and get some results now instead of stressing about other things."
