Alan Hutton is set to leave Aston Villa.

The Sun says Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of Hutton from Aston Villa.

Forest boss Martin O'Neill is keen to be reunited with the experienced Scot.

He is a free agent after leaving Villa Park and has spoken to numerous Championship clubs.

Wigan are also understood to have looked at signing him on a free transfer as well.
