Championship club Nottingham Forest are on the trail of Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge.
Forest boss Steve McClaren is looking to add some spark to his squad and is believed to be very keen on the 26-year old who spent the second part of last season on loan with QPR.
With Magpies boss Alan Pardew signing a couple of midfielders in Sylvain Marveaux and Yohan Cabaye and with the imminent return from injury of Hatem Ben Arfa, it seems as though Routledge is surplus to requirements at St James' Park.
He was close to returning permanently to Loftus Road earlier this summer but QPR and Newcastle were unable to agree a fee for the man who spent a year in London's W12 in 2009/10.
