Nottingham Forest boss Nuno: Why are we always on the end of bad decisions?

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno admits there's great frustration through the club after defeat at Everton on Sunday.

Forest had three penalty calls denied as they lost 2-0, with the club releasing a statement in the aftermath highlighting that the VAR, Stuart Atwell, is a Luton fan.

Nuno said: “I am aware of the complaint; of the formal complaint of the club that (they) were not comfortable with the VAR. PGMOL decide the other way.

“But it's not important if he is a fan of another club or not. The referee and especially the VAR, they are sitting down in a chair and have time to assess the images. I would just like to understand why; why we have always been on the end of bad decisions.

“When we go back to the dressing room and we have access to the images and you see it so clearly, you don't understand why the decision was against us. I share, of course I share the feeling of the club because it's not only this game. It has been a while we have had poor decisions against us. It is not an excuse, but we are not comfortable with the work of the referees."

On whether the statement was appropriate, Nuno said: “I cannot answer whether it is appropriate or not, but it is a feeling.

“It's trying to avoid what happened today and not raise any more suspicions or thoughts that nobody wants. It's about preventing.

“It's a feeling of disappointment that we are always being punished and it's difficult to control, especially for the players. They felt they work hard and are not given what they deserve, especially from the referees."
