Not much has changed but Scotland does not see it that way - Stoke midfielder Adam

Charlie Adam has stated that he is still the same player ahead of his much anticipated return to the Scotland national team.

Following his form for Stoke during the latter part of last season, Adam has been rewarded with a call-up to the national team and the midfielder is now set to make an appearance for Scotland for the first time since March in a friendly against Qatar on Friday.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has credited Adam's improvement in various aspects of his game as the main reason behind his return to the international scene but the midfielder does not share the same view.

Adam explained: "The manager probably sees it different from me but I've been playing the way I've been playing all season.

"He probably thinks there are different parts of my game that have improved. I don't see it that way. But if I keep playing the way I am playing and that's what he thinks - and that gets me an opportunity to play for Scotland, then great."
