Sporting Lisbon are believed to be interested in bringing Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel back to Portugal.

Van Wolfswinkel underwhelmed with his performances during his time at Carrow Road, scoring just once in 27 appearances after the Canaries paid Sporting £8.5million for his services in 2013.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at French club Saint-Etienne and fared slightly better, finding the back of the net nine times in 40 appearances. However, the Dutchman appears poised for a return to Sporting, with the Daily Mirror reporting the Portuguese side are interested in working out a loan deal with Premier League returnees Norwich.
