Norwich City striker Steve Morison feels Grant Holt deserves an England call.

Morison, who made the step up from Millwall in the summer, feels Holt deserves consideration for international selection ahead of the friendlies against Norway in Oslo on May 26 and then Belgium at Wembley on June 2.

"I remember a couple of seasons back Kevin Davies getting a call-up late on to the squad and there is no reason why Grant can't do that," Morison told talkSPORT.

"In that kind of mould he is the best player in the Premier League at the moment in that position.

"If they're looking for someone to be a bit of a handful and be a different option to what they have got, then why not?"

Morison, 28, added: "He has had a fantastic season and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with him.

"Grant's scored against Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea.

"Everyone deserves a chance and he is knocking on the door with his performances, that is all you can do."
