Norwich set to land Man City striker Evans

Norwich City are set to snap up Manchester City striker Ched Evans.

The Canaries are completing paperwork to sign the 18-year-old until New Year's Day after he scored a hat-trick for Wales Under-21s against France on Tuesday night.

Evans has made just one appearance for Sven Goran Eriksson's side - as a substitute in September's 1-0 Carling Cup win over the Canaries - but will go straight into Glenn Roeder's squad to face Coventry on Saturday.

Evans will become the fourth signing made by Roeder since he took the reins at Carrow Road, following moves for Birmingham defender Martin Taylor, Newcastle midfielder Matty Pattison and Derby left-back Mo Camara.
