Norwich secure Rudd to new contract

Norwich City goalkeeper Declan Rudd has signed a new deal with the club.

The 23-year old has penned a three-year deal with the Championship outfit where he serves as back-up for undisputed number one John Ruddy.

Rudd spent last season on loan with Preston North End, making 55 appearances for the League One outfit, but is now back at Carrow Road for the 2014/15 division one campaign.

"To be here is what I've always wanted. I started watching Norwich when I was about six and I joined the Academy a couple of years later," Rudd told the club's official website.

"For the club to sign me on a longer-term deal is brilliant for myself so I'm over the moon and really looking forward to the season.

"I'm just going to keep working hard, put everything into training then if I get an opportunity, take it."
