Norwich's Pilkington remaining calm about Rep of Ireland chance

Anthony Pilkington says he is not getting too carried away with the fact that the Republic of Ireland national team have been keeping close tabs in him.

The Norwich City winger has been watched by Giovanni Trapattoni's assistant Marco Tardelli in recent matches but he insists that he is focused on the job at hand with the Canaries rather than dreaming about next summer's European Championships with the Irish team.

"I think he (Tardelli) has been to a few games," said Pilkington.

"I played for the '21s when I was younger but I have not had any contact with them.

"I would have to think about it if anything does come in, but I'm not worrying about that or getting ahead of myself because it takes your eyes off what is more important and that is playing in the Premier League and making sure Norwich City stay in the Premier League.Premier League next season I know which one I would rather have."
