Norwich City midfielder Alex Tettey has hit out at the moaning of Tottenham over Gareth Bale's goal last week.
Bale brilliantly rode Tettey's X-rated challenge as he crashed home his 12th goal of the season to secure a 1-1 draw.
Villas-Boas was furious, claiming Tettey could easily have broken Bale's ankle and put him out for six months.
But Tettey, the Ghana-born Norwegian international, said: "I just tried to tackle him. But he stayed on his feet and he was just too fast with the ball.
"What more could I do? There was nothing else I could have done.
"We have to let people know that teams cannot come to Norwich and expect to pick up easy points.
"It was hard for us not to win the game because we came so close to holding out.
"But to be fair, I think Spurs did enough to deserve a draw."
