Jonny Howson returns to the Premier League with Norwich City crowned the Real McCoy of Football.

Howson has been named the winner of the prestigious Real McCoy of Football trophy 2014/15. Jonny was recognised for his role model behaviour, exemplary attitude, and contribution in playing a key role in the canaries promotion push this season.

Singled out as a 'model professional and a fantastic player', Jonny was selected as part of an online season long fans poll to find the Real McCoy of Football, with Max Rushden, the face of the campaign, and presenter of Soccer AM announcing that Jonny was the 2014/15 winner.

Alex Neil, Norwich City FC manager said: "Jonny Howson deserves to be the Real McCoy of Football, because he's a top player on the pitch and a top lad off the pitch - I think every team should have a Jonny Howson".

Howson's maturity was always evident becoming the youngest player to captain former club Leeds since Billy Bremner led the side from the mid-1960s. Moving to Norwich in 2012, the midfield dynamo was an instant hit with the fans of his new club, while continuing to remain a firm favourite with the Leeds faithful.

To celebrate the award two lucky fans, father and son Richard and Josh Turner, won a special Twitter competition to step on to the hallowed Carrow road turf and present Jonny with the trophy before kick-off as well as VIP experience for the day.

Jonny's overall win follows Scott Parker being awarded March's Real McCoy of Football and Luke Chambers April's Real McCoy of Football.

McCoy's launched 'The Real McCoy of Football' campaign back in January to find, name and celebrate the guys who give that little bit extra to football.
