Norwich City have now completed the signing of Jacob Butterfield.
The 22-year old recently came out of contract with Barnsley and was all set to join the Canaries a few weeks back but because he is under 24, the matter of a transfer fee could have gone to a tribunal.
But it has been revealed that Barnsley have agreed a compensation fee with Norwich making the England youth international free to join the Premier League club.
"Barnsley Football Club have reached an agreement with Norwich City for the transfer fee of Jacob Butterfield," read a statement released on the Tykes' official website.
"The club are now happy to have accepted a vastly improved offer from Norwich, subsequently avoiding a tribunal as the midfielder is under the age of 24."
