Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill felt it was vital to get minutes into key defender Jonny Evans on Wednesday.
The Manchester United centre-back has missed the past three fixtures for his club due to a six-match suspension for spitting at Newcastle United's Papiss Cisse on March 4.
Despite his lack of game time recently, Evans managed 81 minutes in the 1-0 friendly loss to Scotland in Glasgow while central defensive partner Aaron Hughes played a full 90.
"It was very positive to get Jonny Evans and Aaron Hughes on the pitch together because they have not had much football with their clubs recently," said O'Neill.
The Northern Irish side, who sit second in Group F of Euro2016 qualifying, host Finland in Belfast on Sunday.
