North Queensland intent on making clean sheets a regular

North Queensland Fury's Jeremy Brockie was buoyed by the team's first clean sheet during pre-season on the weekend.

The fledgling A-League club defeated the Brisbane Roar 1-0 in their final pre-season hit-out and Brockie says the players are intent on making clean sheets a regular aim during the season proper.

"That was the first time we've not conceded a goal in a game and a clean sheet is no defeats,'' he said.

''The boys are hoping to keep clean sheets and we've got Robbie (Fowler) and Dave (Williams) now so we're looking better going forward as well.

''We want to make it hard for teams to come up here and I hope that we do make it strong and we do get good crowds and we can make teams scared when they come up and play.''
