North Queensland Fury's Straka and McLaren banned for one match

North Queensland Fury head coach Franz Straka and assistant coach Stuart McLaren have both been banned for one match following their involvement in an incident against the Central Coast Mariners last week.

Straka and McLaren were found to be in breach of the National Code of Conduct by Football Federation Australia after they appealed to the referees at half-time of the match which they lost 3-2 because of a late Patrick Zwaanswijk goal to the Mariners.

With respect to the actions of the McLaren, FFA has taken into consideration the sanctions already imposed by the club. While finding that that Team Official has breached the Code of Conduct, in light of actions of the North Queensland Fury the FFA has determined that no further sanction is warranted.

The club has until 1:00pm (AEST) tomorrow to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
