North Queensland Fury's Pasfield suspended for two matches

Justin Pasfield has more than likely played his last for North Queensland Fury after receiving a two-match ban from the independent Match Review Panel.

The Fury goalkeeper was sanctioned for stomping on Brisbane Roar striker Kosta Barbarouses in the 50th minute of his side's 2-1 loss to the league leaders at Skilled Park on Tuesday night.

The incident escaped the attention of the referee but the MRP found that Pasfield had committed an offence, namely 'Assault on a Player (e.g. Violent Conduct when not challenging for the ball)' and has proposed a sanction of two matches.

This suggests that the 25-year old will not play again for the Fury after he previously agreed to join Central Coast Mariners next season.

Pasfield has until 12:00pm (AEST) today, 11 February, 2011, to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
