North Queensland Fury hand Pasfield two-year deal

North Queensland Fury have swooped for former Sydney FC goalkeeper Justin Pasfield. The former Australian under-23 representative was signed by the Newcastle Jets on a short-term deal to cover injured reserve goalkeeper Ben Kennedy last month.

Fury coach Ian Ferguson said Pasfield would be determined to prove himself at A-League level when North Queensland's inaugural season kicks off later this year.

"He's agile and he's got plenty of heart," Ferguson said.

"Those are two big things to have in a goalkeeper and he's not the sort of player who will be satisfied until he's earned a place in the run-on team.

"He's got the drive to develop into a really solid player here at the Fury over the two seasons he's signed on for."
