North Queensland Fury are to hold a press conference today where it is expected they will announce the signing of Robbie Fowler. The former Liverpool star was in Townsville last week with Fury chairman Don Matheson and coach Ian Ferguson and told the club he loved the place and was interested in a move down under.
The Fury remained upbeat over the ensuing days, hoping for a positive answer from the gun striker and it seems that is what they will receive.
If the deal is confirmed, ex-England international Fowler will be the biggest signing in the A-League since the inaugural season when Sydney FC signed Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke.
