Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan is keen to redeem himself after serving a three-match ban for a bad challenge against Everton about a month ago.
Nolan crossed from Bolton in January but was red-carded for a poor tackle on Victor Anichebe after a good start with his new club.
He is now out to show he is worth the fuss and redeem himself, beginning this weekend against the in-form Arsenal.
"I've had a point to prove from the start, not only to the fans and other people but to myself," Nolan told the club's official website.
"I've had to adapt to a new lifestyle and not being around my family all of the time.
"But it's a challenge I'm looking forward to and this is a fantastic opportunity for me.
"Hopefully if I do get the chance I can prove my worth again because that's what it's all about now.
"It's going to be a tough next nine games, but we're really up for it and I think we'll come through with flying colours.
"It's been a tough couple of weeks, but I suppose you get what you deserve and that's what I got," Nolan added.
"But it's given me a couple of weeks to work on a bit of an ankle problem I've had and I hope to come back fitter and stronger.
"It's also given me that bit extra time to settle and learn about the club and learn about the players.
"I've moved into a new home and, apart from the red card and suspension, everything is going well."
