Sheffield United have withdrawn interest for former Portsmouth and Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard.
The 26-year old has been training with the Blades and even played in a reserves match this week but manager Kevin Blackwell is not keen on signing him.
Blades assistant Sam Ellis admitted that the training and the game was basically a favour for an old friend.
"Vincent rang me in midweek because he knew me from our Stoke days and told me that he needed a game because he's getting over a bad injury," Ellis said.
"It was a personal favour which we were happy to do, so that is job done. I don't see anything else happening."
