Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert says Ashley Westwood is a mix of Manchester United greats Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick.
Lambert is delighted with the current form of the £1 million bargain signing.
"People are actually starting to talk about him," he said.
"I listened to Gary Neville's thing about him after the game and he was excellent which was good.
"I would say he is in that mould (of Scholes). I read somewhere he compares to Michael Carrick.
"Those are not two bad lads to look at. Those two were fabulous footballers, Carrick and Scholes.
"If Westy can look at things like that, great, but he will be always be his own man."
