Ngwenya still awaiting all clear to sign with Houston Dynamo

Joseph Ngwenya is still awaiting his International Transfer Certificate so he can officially sign with the Houston Dynamo.

The 29-year old Zimbabwean forward was offered a contract after beginning a trial with the Dynamo last week but the deal has not yet been completed.

Dynamo head coach Dom Kinnear was confident the paperwork would come through soon to finalise the deal for Ngwenya, a former LA Galaxy and Columbus Crew player, to return to Houston following his stint in 2007.

"We're still waiting for the final paperwork for Joe to get cleared to be able to be available for Saturday," Kinnear said.

"So it's just a matter of can he beat the clock as far as that goes. Obviously there is a need for another forward in the squad right now. Other than that beside this weekend, we wouldn't have signed him unless there was a long term look at him. He did some very good things for us in the past, and from what we've seen so far we think he can do some good things for us here too."
