Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has sent a classy message of congratulations to his teammate Lionel Messi.

The Argentine superstar lifted the World Cup trophy on Sunday, winning the one trophy that has eluded him until then.

Messi and Argentina defeated another PSG star on Sunday, France's Kylian Mbappe.

Despite scoring a hat-trick in the game, Mbappe could not stop Argentina winning on penalties.

"Congratulations brother," 30-year-old Neymar wrote on Instagram, alongside a photograph of Messi kissing the World Cup trophy.

Despite his best efforts, Neymar and Brazil were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Croatia.
