Newell's Old Boys vice-president Cristian D'Amico insists they'll be Lionel Messi's next club.
There's a confidence at Newell's that Messi will join them once he departs from Barcelona.
And D'Amico says they'll seek financial assistance from the Argentine FA, once Messi shows a willingness to return home.
"If he decides to leave Barcelona, he will play for Newell's," said D'Amico. "It doesn't just depend on us.
"The AFA could help us too, (Claudio) Tapia is his friend. I never contacted him, I try not to disturb him."
